The first thing to be explained here is their kinship system which includes primordial tribal relationships. The Toba Batak tribe arranges a kinship system not only based on blood relations, but also based on the affection and harmony of Dalihan Na Tolu elements, namely Hula-hua, Dongan, and Boru.

The elements of the banana expression are namboru and the child of boru. Everything related to marriage is the kinship system.

Their religious system will include religious life, whether local or traditional religion or religion practiced by immigrants. To be sure, religion is a means to worship God who regulates every event and human relationship with God, humans, and the universe.

Batak Tradition and Culture

Hagabon culture is an expression that means many descendants and long life. The traditional Batak expression is well known and is spoken to brides in the hope that they will be blessed with many children. In fact, they always hope to have more than 12 children.

Many children are important for Batak people because they are the strongest human resource. The concept of hagabon is a legacy from the days of the Batak ancestors, where the strength of a tribe is seen from their many personnel in war, so they must have descendants to build strength.

Saur Matuabulung is a term in Hagabon culture for them to live long. With a long life they will produce more offspring. As long as they are still productive they never stop making children. That's ancient times. Even today, it still applies, but not as much as in the past.

Hamoran is a term for wealth. So this culture shapes them into hard-working people because wealth can make us more honorable.

Hamajuon is a term for the progress of the Batak people. They will compete to study and even migrate. These cultural values shape them into a strong and intelligent society. They are able to migrate to all corners of the country to study.

Patik Dohot Ukum is a customary law that passed in the Batak Toba community. This local cultural value is a strong value that is socialized by the Batak people in upholding the truth that applies in the Batak custom itself.

Especially the laws governing human rights. Because many Bataks become lawyers because Patik Dohot Ukum is implanted in their souls.

In social and cultural life, they know protection. That within the Batak community, it is necessary to form groups that are nurturing, protecting, and providing welfare for its members. Therefore, wherever the Batak people gather, they must form a union.

That is the Batak culture that we can emulate, that we must be strong and have high tolerance for others.
